Mark your calendar.  The priority deadline for submission of the FAFSA is February 1, 2009 for most colleges.  Please remember to ask Mrs. Nolan for help if you need it- she is our resident expert!

The FAFSA is submitted online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
Don’t fall for the sham sites online- make sure you are going to .ed.gov as many .com’s will charge you to submit the FAFSA.  It is called the Free Application for Federal Student Aid- beware of imposters!

Mrs. Perkins is out of the district from January 27th through February 27th.  So where can you find help?  Please make sure you ask Mrs. Durfee, Mrs. Nolan or Mr. JB Dorman for help with finalizing college applications, financial aid applications and scholarship applications!  They are here to help you when you need help revising an essay or typing an application.  Parents are welcome to call the school at 509.394.2352 and ask for one of these wonderful people should you have a question.

5. Make a File Folder or Box with All Necessary Parts of a Scholarship Application

Hope you all had a fun summer- now the real fun begins. 

SENIORS Much to do  this fall as early application deadlines are coming up in November and December.  Visit early and visit often in the Student Development Office.  The first Senior Parent Night will get your year off to a good start Wednesday, September 17th at 7PM in the High School Commons.  The Touchet Educational Foundation will be there with vital information about this generous scholarship opportunity.  Tuesday, September 9th is the registration deadline for the October SAT.  Friday, September 19th is the registration deadline for the October ACT.  Come see me in the Student Development Office in the LMC for registration materials and fee waivers.  Students must qualify for free or reduced lunch in order to receive a fee waiver.  You can only use two fee waivers for the SAT in your lifetime and one fee waiver for the ACT. 
JUNIORS - the PSAT is coming up on October 15th. That is the same day as student conferences- so there will be no school and no bus transportation.  The test begins at 8:30 AM so start working out your car pool ride, soon.  This test is paid for by the district- don’t let this excellent opportunity pass you by. Come find out more about it at the Junior Parent Night Wednesday, September 24th at 7PM in the High School Commons.
